Vibe-vacationing

Inspired by my friend’s story how he planned his vacation to Japan with AI, I decided to do so myself. This saved me probably a week for planing and research so might be useful for you as well.

Step 1: input

I prepared an INPUT.md with details I cared about in the trip:

INPUTS:
- how: car (toyota rav 4 2018)
- dates: 12 Jul for 3 weeks
- from: Krakow
- who: me, wy wife and daughter 18 yo

PREFERENCE:
- beash: sand, nice to have mountains around and pine forest
- places: avoid big cities (daughter)
- where to go and stay: visit 3-4 places, ~7-14 days near the sea - Italy or Croatia or somehwere there, the rest should be nicely selected stop point
- nice places:
  - Jesolo Italy - great sea resort
  - Como lake was great
  - Titlis and Pilatus - great hiking in Switzerland, Moskie Oko in Poland
  - Hallstatt - was not visited but great place
- kitchen: italian, seafod, steaks
- we love walking a lot
- we can have not very complicated hicking, especially if it has delivery to the top
- visiting museum / drawing or art galeries are nice

LIMITS:
- total distance: 3-4K km
- budget: ~X PLN for hotels

TASK:
- find great places for main stay 1-2 weeks near the sea
- find 2-3 great places that can be used a stay between Krakow and sea. We can visit 1-2 places on the way to sea and 1 point on the way back to Krakow. We can stay for 1-3 days in those places.

Step 2: places profiling

I asked AI to include:

• a photo

• short description of what you can do at the place

• typical hotel price

• what to eat of local food

• links to buy tickets for main local attractions

• important to know section

• link to google images

Step 3: distances

It is nice to see distances to nearby places. This helps with route planning

Step 4: route builder

Route planner includes:

• order of places to visit

• nights to stay

automatically calculates:

• check-in / check-out dates

• travel distance and time

• link to booking / aribnb with check in/out dates and the place

Final schematic map:

You don’t need any coding skills to build this for yourself. I used Fable but any model should be able to similar. The most complicated thing in trip planning is finding great places to visit, seems like Fable did have great taste imo. Quick links to booking helps a lot as well. Having km in between places helps to sell the trip to your family.
